Sometimes, if the storyline moves too fast, we can’t feel the chemistry in every scene and character development. I don’t know—maybe this scheme isn’t that bad after all.

A sneak peek reveals a one-page continuation of a scenario where Konohamaru tries softening Matsuri, a newborn wild beast. Following Shikamaru’s instructions, Konohamaru keeps expressing himself in ways that genuinely touch Matsuri’s heart. In this chapter’s leak, the conversation between Konohamaru and Matsuri becomes more intense. The two grow closer and start building a bond.

There’s no indication yet that Konohamaru might betray Matsuri. Instead, he is taking his time getting closer to her naturally. With a shy expression, Matsuri confesses to Konohamaru that she doesn’t understand what she’s feeling right now. However, she says that what she feels now is extreme nervousness. On the other hand, as she speaks bit by bit, Matsuri begins to feel something calming. She still doesn’t fully understand why she’s experiencing these emotions.

Due to her innocence and lack of understanding of her feelings, Konohamaru explains that this is her first date. In doing so, Konohamaru indirectly confirms that this is when Matsuri begins to experience love. He also responds positively, showing how happy he is to talk with her. Indeed, Chapter 18 still shows no betrayal by Konohamaru’s team. They want to build trust in the Shinju. Konohamaru is shown continuing to try to approach Matsuri. Shikamaru has told Konohamaru to distract Matsuri while Sarada and the others defeat Ryu. This is the ideal situation, according to Koji. In Chapter 17, Koji mentions that Ryu must be defeated first, and it makes sense that Konohamaru should do this to buy time and distract Matsuri while the others deal with Ryu.

Many may now think that Matsuri will betray Jura because of her feelings for Konohamaru. I wonder if she can kill the person she loves. If she begins to understand feelings of love, Matsuri could likely become a traitor in the Shinju group.

Perhaps Shikamaru should have thought of a strategy. If he sees that Matsuri is enamored with Konohamaru, he could ask Konohamaru to read their intel. It would be exciting to see Shinju become kind because of Matsuri’s feelings of love. This kind of thing is common.
