Read: Boruto Two Blue Vortex – Chapter 11 Review
We have Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 11, and in this chapter, we get a whole lot of action between Himawari versus Jura, with her activating her Nine Tails’ chakra. Sarada versus Hidari, as well as Boruto finally coming back into the story after he recovered from his Karma Seal activating in the previous chapters.
So, let’s start from the top. Sarada finally uses the Nine Tails’ chakra after witnessing Inojin getting impaled by Jura in the previous chapter. Himawari breaks out of captivity and immediately goes over to Inojin, where, using her hair, she removes Inojin from the pike and heals the wound instantaneously. We have seen previous Jinchuriki have a healing factor when it comes to using their tailed beast; however, Himawari is on a whole other level because she is able to regenerate mass onto Inojin literally. Instead of having a massive hole where Inojin got stabbed through, it’s like nothing was ever there. Even though Himawari was unsure that Inojin was fully healed, the fact that she was able to do this in the first place shows that she is a completely different Jinchuriki per se compared to somebody like Naruto. Whatever her power is, it is on a completely different level compared to your ordinary Jinchuriki.
After healing Inojin, Himawari realizes that the only way to come out of this alive is for her to fight because everyone else, when it comes to Team 10, let’s be realistic here, they don’t have any chance when it comes to taking down Jura. So, Himawari makes the right decision by informing Team 10 to leave the battlefield right away because they know they don’t stand a chance against Jura. Shikadai also comes to that conclusion, saying they have to minimize their losses to avoid dying from the likes of Jura. Even Jura acknowledges Shikadai’s brilliance, saying that it is a wise decision and that they will meet again. He even says he will remember Shikadai’s name.
Somebody like Chocho tries to side with Himawari, saying she will protect her and fight by her side. However, with Himawari activating this power, she’s already following the steps of Naruto in Boruto by saying that, since this is her power, this is the responsibility that she must carry. As Boruto and Naruto have displayed before, Himawari has only seen Naruto and Boruto fight a few times, such as Naruto fighting Delta, Boruto during the Chunin Exams, and some bits of training when Boruto was sparring with Kawaki in Boruto Part 1. She finally understands that she has the duty to survive, and her friendship with Chocho right here is really emotional, as Chocho does not want her friend to die. However, Team 10 leaves the battlefield, leaving Himawari and Jura alone before their fight.
Jura says something very interesting. As we know, he is trying to gain more knowledge about the world. Jura notes that even though Inojin was warned time and time again not to attack him, he still put himself in a position where he was almost killed or, eventually, impaled. And even after that happened, because of Inojin’s stupidity, a fire awakened inside Himawari—hence why she was able to activate the Nine Tails’ chakra. Obviously, this was because of the rage she felt seeing her friend basically dying, and that allowed her to utilize this power, right? This is something Jura does not understand. He’s still learning about the world and is noting what’s going on with these people.
This is a morality that I really like when it comes to Jura’s character because he’s trying to understand how humans perceive things, especially when they’re under threat. This was similar to when Team 10, in earlier chapters, tried to protect Himawari from Jura and Hidari. Jura didn’t understand it at all, which is why he’s still questioning, “How do humans think like this?” He’s still soaking up information about the world and trying to find his own identity. You’re going to see this later with Hidari as well, when he’s talking with Sarada.
Himawari has had enough of this. She doesn’t care about any of it. She tells Jura to shut up and immediately swings at him. This pushes Jura back just a little, and Himawari follows up with another punch that sends Jura flying throughout the battlefield. I love the paneling from Ikemoto, which displays some of the destruction caused by Himawari’s power. This is something that we didn’t really get much of in the Boruto manga because Ikemoto doesn’t typically display too many destructive feats. We’ve already seen such feats from the likes of Momoshiki, Naruto, Sasuke, Boruto, etc.
However, with a transformation like this happening for Himawari for the first time, this is her first major battle. I really like that Ikemoto is getting a little more aggressive with the destruction, especially since we are at the pinnacle of power scaling in Boruto. These are the top-tier characters. Himawari may not be considered top-tier yet, but a character like Jura needs to be established, right? We’ve already seen a bit of him using the Bijuu Bomb. I like that we’re getting a glimpse of Himawari’s power, and I feel it through the panels.
Following up with more punches, Jura immediately flies up and goes for a dive bomb. Himawari sees this and forms a Bijuu Bomb. Even though she is the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, the fact that she’s able to control a Tailed Beast Bomb so effortlessly with her hair, as if she’s a Bijuu herself, is very impressive. Jura stops in his tracks and shoots his own Bijuu Bomb, leading to a Dragon Ball Z-like beam clash with the Bijuu Bombs colliding in the air. You really feel the impact of it, and the explosion is so intense that Team 10, retreating far from the battlefield toward Konoha, can still feel it.
The fact that Himawari can control a Bijuu Bomb so quickly is impressive to Jura because, at least when it comes to Jinchuriki powers, he’s never seen such rapid development before. Jura follows up with more attacks, such as a headbutt that comes from behind and stomps her into the ground. Jura is just playing around with Himawari. He says he only wanted to release a little bit of his power to test his true strength. We haven’t seen Jura fight at full power yet, as he hasn’t really been pushed back. This is the first time we’ve seen Himawari put Jura on the defensive, even if just for a little bit, and it forces Jura to use a bit more power. Eventually, Himawari is pushed into the ground as the fight continues to escalate. Here’s your text with punctuation added:
Anyways, we cut from that battle to the battle between Sarada versus Hidari. Sarada uses Chidori to put Hidari into on the ground, where Sarada is questioning who the hell Hidar is. Hidari doesn’t answer back but instead heals the wound instantly by going into the claw marks to get rid of the wound as if nothing ever happened in the first place. Hidari then notes that Sarada has the Sharingan, and he finally understands that, even though he did use the Chidori since he didn’t have the Sharingan, it was incredibly hard to control the jutsu. This is why he actually missed when using the Chidori back in Boruto Chapter 10. If you remember the last chapter, when Hidari tried to attack Sarada right away, he did use the Chidori. However, he missed simply because he didn’t have the Sharingan. When you have the Sharingan, you can tunnel vision your Chidori into a single strike, which is why the Shinju God is needed in order to use the Chidori properly.
Konohamaru then follows up with Hidari, asking what his connection to Sasuke Uchiha is. Hidari says that he has no idea who that is and admits that he is trying to figure out what exactly he is as a being. He understands that he is Ten Tails; he understands the power that he contains. However, he does not know his own identity. This is the will he has been following, and it is something he questioned when he first talked to Jura in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 5, after being revealed thanks to Code’s claw marks manipulating the Ten-Tails. He has been trying to understand what exactly he is. Jura initially guided him toward that goal or what he actually wanted. However, even in front of Sarada, he’s still questioning if this is truly something that he wants.
Sumire then quickly deduces that Hidari is actually targeting Sarada, where Hidari immediately catches Sarada off guard. He creates a claw mark right behind her and then puts her in a state of shock by using a Lightning Style jutsu, where Sarada even notes that she can’t move her body. Then Ninja Number 345 tries to do some attack, and we all know what happens—he gets destroyed instantaneously. Konohamaru follows up with a Rasengan, but Hidari is too quick and gets behind him. However, we do get to see a little bit of Konohamaru in this chapter, where he uses a new jutsu we’ve never seen before, called the Wind Style: Rasengan, which protects him from Hidari’s Chidori. Even though he didn’t really get hit, he is sent flying into a nearby wall, rendering him unconscious.
Anyway, Sumire is then put into a state of shock by Hidari, where both characters are unable to do anything. We cut from that battle to the battle between Sarada versus Hidari. In chapter 12 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex Manga, we saw Boruto arrive just in time to save Sarada and Himawari, bringing a sense of relief but also setting up a looming showdown with Hidari. Boruto’s quick intervention was reminiscent of Goku’s dramatic entrances, signaling that things were about to heat up. As the battle against Hidari begins in Chapter 11, Boruto wastes no time showing off his skills post-time skip, unveiling new abilities, and leading the charge against Sasuke’s clone. The stakes continue to rise as Boruto’s team faces off against one of their deadliest foes yet.
