Boruto’s Next Move: Will He Save Team 7?

After the events of Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 19, it seems like Team 7 is in serious trouble with their mission to eliminate the Shinju. Sarada, Mitsuki, and Konohamaru are in a difficult situation.

Sarada and Mitsuki are currently fighting Ryu alongside Yodo and Araya. Thanks to Araya’s blade, which contains the Lodestone Sand Sealing Jutsu, they have been able to counter Ryu’s Iron Sand. However, in the latest chapter, the blade was sealed away by one of the Claw Grimes when Ryu fought back. This means they now have no way to counter the Iron Sand. They lack any Jutsu capable of breaking through it, and to be honest, there is no way for them to fight back against someone as powerful as Ryu.

As for Konohamaru, he is currently trying to calm down Matsuri. However, since he is unable to communicate with her properly, she is in a rage, attempting to devour him. We do know that Matsuri has feelings for Konohamaru, which he clearly does not reciprocate. He makes it clear that he does not want to be called “Konohamaru-chan,” which causes her to lose control of her emotions. Right now, Matsuri has Konohamaru bound with her Wood Style Jutsu, wrapping around his neck.

I imagine Konohamaru has a chance to fight back simply because his arms are not restricted, meaning he could probably use a Rasengan to break free from the Wood Style Jutsu restraining him. However, given the situation with all of Team 7, Boruto wants to go to the Land of Wind to help his teammates, as they are currently in a very bad position.

In the latest chapter, when Eida was speaking to Koji about Team 7’s whereabouts and how well they were handling their mission, she informed Koji that they were holding their own. However, there was no certainty about how they would complete this mission. A few chapters ago, when Team 7 was first tasked with going to the Land of Wind to eliminate the Shinju, Koji predicted that their chances of failing were pretty low. This suggests that characters like Sarada, Mitsuki, Konohamaru, and the other Sand Ninja were expected to complete the mission without outside assistance. From Koji’s perspective, it seems he believes Team 7 will eliminate the Shinju without Boruto or any other Leaf Village members interfering.

He tells Boruto that he knows he wants to help and rush over there, but now is not the time. This implies that they are planning for Boruto to eventually step in and assist.

Leading up to Two Blue Vortex Chapter 19, I saw some interesting discussions about Boruto potentially helping the rest of Team 7 take down the Shinju. We understand that the relationship between Kashin Koji and Boruto revolves around working together to save the Leaf Village and the Ninja World. This is due to Kashin Koji’s Prescience Jutsu, which allows him to see multiple timelines at once. Because of this ability, he knows what will eventually happen and must guide Boruto in the right direction to ensure the best possible future. That is the ultimate goal of Koji and Boruto.

In the past few chapters of the Boruto manga, it appears that Boruto has been aligned with Koji’s mindset. Additionally, with Eida assisting them—thanks to her Senrigan and ability to communicate with Koji—it seems like they are playing the long game to achieve their objectives, whether it be eliminating the Shinju or dealing with future threats.

Furthermore, Shikamaru is also on Koji’s side, as he has been able to communicate with him after Boruto returned to the village. With this relationship established between Boruto and Kashin Koji, they seem to be working together. However, I have some speculation about what Boruto truly wants when it comes to saving his people.

Obviously, Boruto is a good person in the story, despite the entire Ninja World perceiving him as a villain. However, I believe that at some point, he will break away from Koji’s guidance and act on his own to protect Team 7. This seems highly plausible, considering that Boruto has been growing increasingly impatient while staying at Orochimaru’s hideout, constantly asking Koji about the status of the mission. Judging by his expressions, he clearly wants to be out there helping his teammates—which even Koji has noted.

So, if and when Boruto finally leaves Koji, he will likely head to the Land of Wind. The biggest dilemma that this is going to create is that Koji’s plan of pointing Boruto in the right direction to ensure a safer future will be completely changed. Let’s not forget that when it comes to the Pense ability, Koji can see multiple timelines. So, when he does see these multiple timelines, he knows that he must commit certain actions to avoid the worst possible future.

If Boruto does leave, that will create many different ramifications for the future plot of the story, especially with the other characters who could be put at risk. One of them, of course, is Jura heading into the battlefield, simply because Jura is targeting Boruto to kill him, not to devour him. Obviously, when it comes to Jura’s goals, he knows that Boruto is way too dangerous to just be devoured. Instead, he wants to kill him, which is why the other Shinjus are looking to kill Boruto in the first place.

That is why Koji set that trap when Team 7 was looking for the other Shinju—he put down one of the dead toads to lure out Ryu and Matsuri. After the events of Chapter 19, we don’t know if Team 7 truly has a chance of taking down Ryu and Matsuri, especially since both parties are at a disadvantage. With Araya’s blade being sealed away by the Claw Grimes, they have no way to fight back against Ryu’s Iron Sand. Not only that, but we also don’t know if Konohamaru truly has the power to fight back against Matsuri, meaning both groups within Team 7 have a very high chance of actually dying.

This is why there is a high possibility that Boruto will leave without Kashin Koji’s permission, which will change how Koji directs Boruto to ensure a safer future and avoid a catastrophic outcome. The thing is, I definitely believe Koji has planned for this possibility, considering he is telling Boruto that now is not the time for him to head out and help his teammates. So, at some point—whether it’s in the next chapter (which I assume it will be)—Boruto will likely leave with Koji’s permission. Since Koji sees multiple timelines, he knows that if Boruto makes a mistake, it will change everything and put everyone at risk of potentially dying at the hands of Jura.

To be honest with you, the only character they truly fear right now is Jura himself. We’ve already seen Boruto take down the likes of Hidari, thanks to Sarada and Konohamaru’s help, so the other Shinjus, like Matsuri and Ryu, shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. However, we don’t know how strong Mamushi is. Interestingly, Eida does seem to fear him a little bit. I will be writing a blog article about that because I believe Mamushi is lurking somewhere and will make a significant move—especially against Eida, whom he plans to devour as well.

Right now, the only real threat is Jura, and he is the one they must take down. Let’s not forget that Boruto approached Kawaki and asked him to have his limiters removed because he knew he wouldn’t be able to fight someone like Jura alone. Since Kawaki is currently nerfed due to the limits Amado placed on him, we will eventually see Kawaki at full power. This means that, at some point, Boruto and Kawaki will have their inevitable battle. However, for now, Jura stands in their way, meaning they will have to defeat him first.

To be honest, I fully expect Boruto to make an appearance in this battle against the Shinju. I just don’t think someone like Konohamaru has the strength to take down Matsuri by himself. Even though I was rooting for him, it seems like he might disappoint yet again. From his perspective, I do want him to fight back. Obviously, his plan was to catch Matsuri by surprise, but now that his cover is blown due to Matsuri realizing that Konohamaru doesn’t reciprocate her feelings, he has no choice but to fight. And right now, he really hasn’t done anything—he’s just sitting there.

I want him to fight back and show me something because it’s getting kind of sad at this point. He has shown some strength in Two Blue Vortex, particularly when he helped Sarada fight Hidari, but in this situation, he needs to step up.

So, it’s not like all is lost. However, Boruto will most likely rescue him first, and when he does make that appearance, I expect him to head out to battle Ryu as well.

When it comes to fighting Matsuri and Ryu, personally, I believe Boruto has the strength to kill both characters. I just think the abilities he possesses are too overwhelming for someone like Ryu and Matsuri. I believe his Rasengan Uzuhiko is too overpowered for any of the Shinju to take head-on, except for Jura. Based on the way Kashin Koji has been talking about him, it seems like Jura is on a completely different level compared to everyone else on the playing field.

So, when it comes to these other Shinjus, once Boruto arrives, I don’t really have any worries. I think it’s expected that he will destroy the other Shinju with ease because of his power levels, and I don’t think anyone can really keep up with him outside of Jura—and maybe Kawaki, once he gets his limiters unlocked by Amado.

Let me know what you guys think about this article in the comment section below. Do you think Boruto will return to the battlefield once again in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 20? I know Chapter 19 just ended. However, with Kashin Koji realizing that Boruto is eager to help out his teammates and get to the Land of Wind, I think it’s worth discussing.

Boruto has been sidelined for the past few chapters. Ever since the start of TBV, it was all Boruto-centric—and deservedly so, because he is the main character. However, with these other side characters getting their screen time, like the rest of Team 7, they are now in a bind after fighting these opponents for the past few chapters. Right now, I don’t know if Konohamaru, Sarada, and Mitsuki have a chance of taking down these Shinjus by themselves.

Kashin Koji, on the other hand, is anticipating that they will take down the Shinjus. But if they don’t succeed, Boruto will definitely be out in the field.
